Sabine Sonnentag studies how individuals can stay healthy, energetic, and productive at work, even when they face a high level of job stressors. She is particularly interested how work engagement and self-regulation unfold during daily work processes. In her research she addresses four main topics

(1) Recovery and unwinding from job stress

(2) Work engagement, well-being, and effective task strategies in "always-on" work settings

(3) Health behavior in the job context, with a focus on healthy eating and physical exercise

(4) Proactive behavior
